How could it be so...?

Well, a LOT happened today. I guess.

As usual, I woke up at 6:30 to prepare for my second to the last class at Ahead. Aww. It sucks that once it's almost the end, it's when people start to warm up to each other. It's also Anna's last day! And the sad thing is that I had to leave early to attend my friend's mom's funeral. I really wanted to go to the funeral to comfort my friend, even if it means cutting class. :)) Joke. It's fine leaving early. It's only DD1 for DLSUCET. What I'm sad about is leaving class- Anna! I'm going to miss you! See you at the refresher course which is... July?

I think I was supposed to be part of Anna's family. She told me she and all her sisters' names begin with Anna. ME! Anna Francesca! :)) Anyway, we both got annoyed when we saw the ID for Ahead. It's supposed to include your nickname but mine says Anna (which was luckily covered up by my trusty labeler) and Anna's... she didn't like it because it was her unique second name.

So after we got to the funeral, I headed home while my fwendz went to Estelle's house for a movie marathon. I had to pass since I was going to study for the simulated exam. And guess what? I just procrastinated. :( I should've come with them!!!

The afternoon was also spent YM-ing with Peanutz. We also tweeted. Kya~! David Archuleta! I should've gone to Mall of Asia today! Meet and Greet! But oh well. I'll just have to barge into his hotel room :)) And bring him lots of Mangoes! He loves Philippine Mangoes!

Then, that evening, we watched American Idol. As expected, Adam was awesome! Danny was okay and Kris... dear, sweet, humble and married Kris blew me away! First he sang Apologize by One Republic- a song that David Archuleta also performed!- then came the song that completely threw me off! We expected Danny to be in the finals with Adam but oh no! I'm Team KRIS now!

He sang Heartless by Kanye West, a song I have no love for, in an acoustic version. Kya~! It's so awesome, I haven't been able to get over it even AFTER the show!

Wow. How long has it been? ... who cares. :))

So what should I ponder to ramble about this... evening. Was that even grammatically correct? ... who cares. [[yet again.]] I'm going to start a list of things that has happened since... I can remember. Okay, since my last post which was about... holy hell! I haven't updated since PROM!?!

Okay. Let's start with that.

1. Prom was (unfortunately) boring. My friends and I spent the evening in the girl's bathroom (It's a 5-star hotel bathroom so it isn't icky!) contemplating on why Mariel bought shoes she couldn't walk on.
2. ... ah yes. Chemistry Investigatory Project. Well, it sucked. (Of course.) I mean, it's hard to accomplish such a thing by yourself. I mean, come on! ALL of my GROUPMATES were part of the COTILLION! Anyways, it's what I'd like to remember as a "Been there, Done that." sort of thing.
3. What else? Skip the exams and procrastinating bits... ah yes! The recognition day. Yours truly was shocked to find out that she is the IT awardee (I want this award!) AND CLE awardee (shockers. really.) AND rank 4 in our batch! WOW. FOUR! One more and I could have a medal! Anywayz, while I was shocked to the bone, my friends (another shock as well) weren't surprised. Well, they beat Mom's reaction thought. She slipped as we were hurrying to get the CLE award.
4. Dad got me a Nokia E71. It's RED. I love it! I try to tweet with it daily! (Yes. I have a twitter account now.) My cellphone's the same as Chuchi's (hers is white) and my pediatrician. (Holy hell! My phone's the same as my DOCTOR's!)
5. Dad also got us a PSP. (4GB, slim, white) Though Ally's been hogging it most of the time. Like ALWAYS.
6. I got a (quoting Jom) Big Ass USB. It's an external RED harddrive. I've been downloading reflexive arcade games since.
7. Estelle, Mariel and CJ went here last Holy Week. Procession and stuff. "Annick! Ang banal ng pamilya mo!" LOL.
8. We (family) went to NBS at Cubao and I bought TONS of books that I still haven't finished reading cause of AHEAD.
9. AHEAD. My review center with Kuya LA. Kuya Dan's in the afternoon class.

I'll expand on the latter topic next time. This blog post is DONE.

I finally read Revelations, the 3rd Blue Bloods book by Melissa de la Cruz. It's either that I'm lazy to do a review or it just didn't have that big impact on me. Anyway, here's a brief, bulleted review.

• The ending sucks. It's not an epilogue, it's a crapilogue.
• There's a hidden chapter. I'm annoyed that it's not published because I love that chapter more than the other published chapters.
• It's truly "Revelations"
• Monday: My Ate Carllyn told me it's so great. I was so enthusiastic. I told my friends, specifically Mariel and Hazel "Wag nyo ko pipigilan!"Little did I know they'd take it too seriously... // Friday: I bought it. Spent 599 Pesos for it.
• I can't wait for the other books.
• I will never doubt Ms. Melissa de la Cruz ever again. I thought Blue Bloods would be a bit shallow considering the fashion statements and luxuries implied throughout the books. I know, shame on me.

Okay. Time to study for my Computer exam.

Another ♥ good read.

This is similar to the other book I read and reviewed in this blog. About the female obsessed with a romance novel and such? Yeah. I can totally relate with these good finds.

Confessions of a Serial Kisser is written by Wendelin Van Draanen, author of Flipped which I have read and adored. And for that purpose did I decided to buy it. Yesterday, before we went to EK. So anyway, if I probably didn't know the author, I wouldn't have spent 514 on this book thinking it's just one of these shallow romance novels about catfights and stilettos. The excerpt on the cover of the book wasn't useful at all, describing about the 'pull of kiss' or such. Now that I've finished reading it taking about an hour yesterday at 3 am and the whole morning before lunch, I've decided I love this author and her books.

I love it.

It's about Evangeline, a 17 year old girl who got addicted to her mom's romance novel, Crimson Kiss, describing about a glorious, perfect kiss that would make her feel alive. So begins her quest. Add in the boy troubles because of her spontaneous kisses, her Dad's unfaithfulness which has led to divorce and now tries to rebuild their family again and soon after "friendship problems" cause Evangeline to just stop with the conquest and re-evaulate everything. With an open ended finale (similar to Flipped) and a winning last line, this book went to my favorites. Well, it gave me something to think about too.

I can't wait to tell my friends & classmates a.k.a. addicted romance readers as well.

Spoiler alert! The winning last line/s....

The crimson kiss isn't something you can chase, because it's more than just the passionate meeting of mouths. It's a confession.

It's the truth your lips whisper to someone you love.

That line won me over. :)

It's not dark. You're just BLIND.

Keep telling yourself "Reality is better than fiction." I've finished reading "Austenland" by Shannon Hale [[I love the book!!]] and in one of the reviews, it mentions the earlier statement. I irony? It's also a novel. Like blind leading the blind. The story is about a young woman, very single because she keeps comparing every guy to Mr. Darcy, her obsession. Though I'm not a fan of Pride and Prejudice [[I'm TRYING to read the book and see what the fuss is all about...]], I understand that Boys in Books are so much Better. It's a great story. About letting go, moving on and taking a stand. [[Though it's not as dramatic as I put out.]]

It was worth my savings. :) But I wasn't surprised, Shannon Hale is one of my most favorite authors.

But after a bad haircut, I find reality very... annoying. It's like wanting to enter a dream and never wake-up or go through a mirror to another world or something... what a novel idea. But then again, after a few days of trying to get over... stuff. I might reconsider.

Epiphany: Aside from being myopic, I'm blind. [[I thought these things only happen in book but...]] And I'm so stubborn I frustrate myself as well.

Breaking Dawn

Yup. The fourth (and last, not counting Midnight Sun) book of the Twilight Series.





BEFORE READING THE BOOK:


Of course, there would be spoilers. MAJOR spoilers too.


1) Bella would get pregnant.

But probably the biggest (and worst) I've heard is:


3) Jacob's going to imprint on Bella and Eward's daughter. [[eww.]]


People said it was a disappointment. That my money would just be wasted on it. But still, I'd give the book a shot. After all, I've been WAITING for it to be released and I'd already reserved a copy. I didn't have expectations though, whether it would be bad as they say or maybe... just okay. I'm not a fan of Bella... so I don't fancy the book that much. Besides, I was already [[and still am]] pissed that Robert Pattinson would play Edward. NO NO NO! Lots of people would back me up. But it's pointless. The movie's done and all that, so there. Go watch it [[The release date was advanced to November 21st, and Harry Potter, which was supposed to come out on the date aforementioned would be premierring on earlier next year. I wonder why... gah. Don't care.]]


So anyway, my cousin "Peanuts" borrowed the book before I managed to buy it. And she hinted that there were lots of... innuendos. And to think that this is the first in the Twilight Saga she's read. What a turn off. She also said "Bella = slut. Poor Edward." Well, no surprise.


Last Saturday I bought the book, amazingly, the last copy at NBS. What a miracle! I was GLAD. Super. It's a miracle if you think about it [[simple joy]]. "Hahaha! Because of me, it's sold out!" Well, that's just me. A bit cruel. ^-^


And then I started to read.


WHILE READING THE BOOK:

I was entranced with Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse that I managed to finish it about 1 and half days. But it took me 3 days to finnish Breaking Dawn, and not because it's longer than the others. I couldn't read it straight, especially the parts where Bella narrated, without getting a bit... flustered. Are the publishers sure that it's for YOUNG ADULTS? And oftentimes I imagine the characters to be R.Pattinson and Kristen Stewart [[I don't like her voice...]] so that was... disturbing. I used the Tom Sturridge bookmark for... convenience. Something to keep me reading without (much) discomfort. But I still couldn't read it straight.

I laughed out loud when Jacob narrated. I thought I would hate his part, imaging it to be "Woe is me and my unrequited love" but it was very amusing. Especially his banters with Rosalie. I became fond of Jacob through this book.

Edward... became a bit of a minor character. He was in so much pain throughout the book, all because of his love for Bella. Poor Edward. I didn't seem much of a love story anymore [[except for the you-know-what parts. Too much of that actually. :(]] and he wasn't as "dazzling" as before. The burning man as Jacob put it.

AFTER READING THE BOOK:


Breaking Dawn is very different from the other two books. I think it got sidetracked from the young adult theme actually. I wouldn't say it is a disappointment. [[Hell, a lot of people already says that.]] But if you ignore the innuendos, too formal and serious discussions and annoying main character, it's... just okay.

A thing that made Breaking Dawn memorable for me is Jacob, and also adorable Renesmee. Like her father, she has 'dazzled' me! They're so cute together! If you ignore the fact that Jacob used to have a thing for her mom and that she's only months old but growing quite rapidly, that is. Honestly, I like the pair a bit more than Edward and Bella. Maybe because I don't like Bella and I think Edward's too perfect for her.


It was a happy ending... almost too perfect actually.

And you know what, I'm still confused why it's called Breaking Dawn.

Comparing...

I said I like The Host more than The Twilight Series... now [[all thanks to Jacob and Renesmee]]... I don't know. But it seems like Breaking Dawn would fit more into the Adult genre than The Host.

There were a lot of negative feedback about Breaking Dawn, in Amazon, in magazine reviews, even in forums! All I can say is... Poor Stephenie Meyer.

In the end, the Twilight Saga is just... okay for me. [[Maybe a little bit more.]]
